Held last weekend, the South-Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships gathered some well-known names in the city of Florianópolis.
Among standouts, Erberth Santos of Guigo Jiu-Jitsu made his comeback to CBJJ events, following a suspension, and claimed the absolute title. To get there, Erberth beat José Henrique Cardoso (Ceconi) in the final. Before that, however, Erberth was stopped in the ultra-heavy division, which was conquered by Antônio Assef (GFTeam).
Silvia Araújo (Cícero Costha) had no such setback, defeating Márcia Ramos (GFTeam) in the absolute final, adding that title to her medium heavy gold medal, which she won unopposed.
Also of note were André Sergipano, a UFC athlete who won double gold in the master 1 group; Cláudio Caloquinha (GBBH), who won two gold medals in no-gi and one in the gi, closing ranks with André Rachadel; and Arthur Gogó (GFTeam), who bagged double gold in the master 2 group.
